Our full day tour to Machu Picchu from Cusco is the quickest and safest way to visit Machu Picchu in only one day. This itinerary is perfect for those who need to maximize their time in Cusco but at the same time enjoy a tour in one of the Wonders of the World without rushing. The tour departs early in the morning (around 3am) from Cusco. After traveling 1.5 hours by car, you’ll reach the train station in Ollantaytambo to take your train to Aguas Calientes (aka Machu Picchu Pueblo). Once you arrive, our personnel will be waiting for you outside the train station so you can take the bus up to Machu Picchu and start your tour.
You’ll enter Machu Picchu with your guide to start your journey through the Inca’s history and culture of the amazing lost city of Machu Picchu. Once your tour ends, you’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, the train to Ollantaytambo, and finally our driver will bring you back safely to your hotel in Cusco by the end of the afternoon.
Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
We will pick you up from your hotel between 3:30 and 4:00 am and drive to the train station in Ollantaytambo. During the 1.5-hour train ride, you will have the chance to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding valleys and Andes mountains. You will board your train in Ollantaytambo, and the train will arrive in Aguas Calientes, which is a small town located at the base of Machu Picchu. We will then travel by bus (30min) to arrive at our destination – Machu Picchu. As a group, we will go through the entrance and begin our 2h guided tour through the ruins of the lost inca citadel. After the tour, you will board the bus again to go back down to Aguas Calientes, and finally take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will be waiting to bring you back to Cusco.
